Welcome to Waikiki … season 2! (part 1)

The world isn’t helping us. So, what we can do?

-Welcome to Waikiki-

iHola¡ ¿Como esta? LOL. Why I am greeting with Spanish? Sorry^^. I supposed to greet like that for Memories of The Alhambra review, right? SO … back with the English version again (two previous posts I was using Bahasa Indonesia), who can’t wait to watch the lighthearted drama Welcome to Waikiki season 2?

I am not really excited about that, but still, I am waiting for season two. Especially, one of the lead cast is Lee Yi Kyung. He is the member of the season one. Before we talk about the new drama which is will launch tomorrow, March 25, I will talk about the first season first. Shall we?

Welcome to Waikiki is a lighthearted drama to watch. I’d love this drama because I was not bored at all. For people who want to spare their time with watch light Korean Drama, I highly recommend this drama to you! This genre of this drama is a rom-com. Actually, the rom-com is not only about between the male and female character, but it also happens between all male characters. Or should we call it a bromance? Yes, it is! This is a bromance drama. LOL.

The story is light, the acting of the actors are indeed good, they are TOP-NOTCH! This drama was broadcasted by JTBC. And the release date … I think it was about February 2018. I can tell you this drama is worth to watch, although you have to finish the 20 episodes. And each episode of Welcome to Waikiki never fails to make me laugh.

So, what was the story about? Welcome to Waikiki is about three men who run the guest house, Waikiki, in Itaewon. These three men are Kang Dong Goo (Kim Jung Hyun), his dream is becoming a movie director; Lee Joon Ki (Lee Yi Kyung), he wanted to follow his father's career as an actor; and last is Bong Doo Sik (Son Seung Won), he came to Seoul to become a scenario writer, but things have been not easy for him. Their guest house is facing bankruptcy and then a mysterious baby and single mother appear at Waikiki. Here the trailer!

So, the other reason why I like this drama is that the story itself. Instead of telling about a hero, or a hard statement of life… This drama is naturally telling about the daily life of each character. And when they encounter hardships, they take it in an easy way. They faced hardships but they are still fighting for it.

If you quite like a classic movie, perhaps you ever watch Three Men and a Baby? I thought the drama is an adaptation of that Hollywood movie. It is very similar. But until now, I never found about the news if Waikiki is an adaptation or not. Maybe yes, but I don’t know.

Okay. Now, let’s move to the next season!
